Sam Bentley was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England.
Sam combines many mediums to form his final image. Using hand drawn traditional elements, digitally drawn elements, photography produced first hand and graphic design, Sam creates a unique, nior and gothic aesthetic within his work.
Sam finds inspiration in many places and is inspired particularly by artists and creators such as Andrea Sorrentino, Alex Ross, Jae Lee, Mike Mignola and Richard Isanove.
Sam has worked for many clients, producing covers and sequential art for independent comic books, as well as character commissions and paintings. Sam is also currently involved in producing a full colour, sci-fi-horror graphic Novel, set to be released in the near future.
In 2014, Sam, with help from then-colourist Dan Cristofi, was selected as one of 13 finalists in high profile comic creator Todd Macfarlane’s ‘Lucky 13’ fan art contest. This work was subsequently included in the 250th issue of the Spawn Comic book.
As of May 2017, Sam has had several comic books released, in particular 5 issues of the supernatural, noir comic, COGNITION. Sam's work has also appeared in magazines and has had guest art featured in several indie books and kickstarter projects.
